Specialized Training

We are committed to serving each of our clients' individualized needs. We offer regularly scheduled training to all of our staff to enhance the knowledge and skills necessary to work with people who have an array of medical conditions and backgrounds.

A sampling of the training we offer our clinicians and caregivers include:

At Legacy Home Care, we believe that each client has a voice in determining their care plan. We offer Person-Centered Training, a program designed to treat each person as a unique individual. With this training, our clinicians and caregivers are able to employ tools to ensure effective listening and communication with each client they serve.

Legacy Home Care serves many clients who have dementia. In order to help our clinicians and caregivers best serve these clients, we offer specialized dementia training through Janelle Johnson of JMJ Consulting and Advocacy. With her educational background in law and social work, Janelle employs behavioral intervention strategies designed to empower staff & give them the information they need when working with clients who have dementia.

When caring for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender (LGBT) older adults, the right home care agency can make all the difference. At Legacy Home Care, our clinicians & caregivers receive specialized training - Training To Serve - to give them the tools they need to positively impact the lives of our LGBT clients & their family members.

Those who receive hospice services often utilize Legacy Home Care for additional support. We offer hospice training for our staff so they can provide high-quality services to our clients receiving hospice care. These educational sessions review the best strategies for providing compassionate end-of-life care, with particular attention to pain management and palliative measures.
